(Synopsis) Joachim Funke presents a succinct analysis of the pros and cons of using CBT in complex problem-solving research. A
particular interesting aspect of his paper deals with a description of differences in European and North American approaches to complex problem-solving research. The ongoing CBT specialist will profit from a careful reading of his
discussion of differences between using scenarios for assessment and using them for training purposes: Funke clearly shows that, as is so often the case in psychometric and psychological research, computer-based scenarios have
their advantages as well as serious weakness in being used as diagnostic and experimental tools. (Synopsis from: Booth, 1998, p. 58.). |
